For Permanent residency in Hongkong you are required to have QMAS(Quality Migrant Admission Scheme) visa. QMAS visa is a government approved quota based system which was launched in 2006 and permits talented and skilled professionals to come to Hong kong and upgrade its global market.
The QMAS visa system of Hongkong is a points based system named as General point test. The candidate needs to gain 80 points as per general point system to be eligible to apply for this visa. There are certain eligibility criteria’s involved for any candidate to apply for QMAS visa
# AGE: Applicant must have 18 years of age completed at the time of filing application.
# CHARACTER: Applicant must not possess any criminal record in past. The applicant should be able to give police clearance certificate for all countries where he/she lived for more than 12 months in last 10 years.
#LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: Applicant must have the proficiency in written, as well as spoken English or Chinese. He/she is required to score an average of 6.0 bands in IELTS to be eligible to apply under QMAS.
#EDUCATION QUALIFICATION: Applicant is required have a good educational background. Ideally, an applicant should have at least an undergraduate degree, earned from a recognized university/ institute. If an applicant do-not have any degree, his/ her technical qualifications and professional experience are taken into consideration. Applicants with higher post-graduation degrees stand good chances in getting application accepted.
Typical processing time for getting the visa is around four to six weeks although in many cases it may be completed in not more than 10-15 days. If, the Hong Kong immigration in India process stipulates than the candidate must go to the consulate to gather his/her visa after it is been approved by immigration officials. The applicant is directly approached by immigration officials for the same, and will be asked to bring his/her passport and the relevant processing fee. The fees needs to be paid in Indian rupees.
There are three Hongkong embassies that deal with Hong Kong immigration in India which are located in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Whereas working hours for each consulate might be different that needs to be ensured before attending the particular consulate.
